Anja Jacobsen is a composer, percussionist and vocalist. She is interested in creative approaches to playing and composing rhythms and melismatic, soft ways of singing while paying a tribute to the poetic moments in life.

At the moment she is working on composing ‘Variations for percussion, guitar and voice’ and composing ‘Polio Requiem’ for 6 strings, 4 voices and percussion together with Anders Lauge Meldgaard for a new art film by Niels Frandsen.

Anja Jacobsen is the leader of the experimental vocal group Valby Vokalgruppe, behind the project ‘a’ (prev. frk. jacobsen), co-composer and drummer in Selvhenter, composing music for performances and film and teaching Rhythm Practice and Collective Creative Composition at RMC.
