G.E.K

G.E.K. is the name of a long-lasting musical partnership between composer/saxophonist Johannes Lund (also Jooklo Group, Mats Gustafsson, John Chantler, Slutspurt) and trombonist/multi instrumentalist Maria Bertel (Selvhenter, Nina Garcia, Jooklo Group). Both are considered leading figures on the Copenhagen experimental and improv scene as founding members of the venue Mayhem and the music collectives Eget Værelse and Yoyooyoy. They are not least known from their common outfit G.E.K. who have previously sent out two vinyl releases (from 2008 and 2014 respectively) and had years of international touring activity. The original band name literally translates God Is A Woman.
